Prof. (Dr.) Jitendra Nath Bera

Prof. (Dr.) Jitendra Nath Bera is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of applied physics, with a focus on wireless communication, electrical machines, power systems, and embedded systems. He obtained his B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. degrees from reputed institutions, including the University of Calcutta and Jadavpur University.

Prof. Bera has extensive professional experience, having worked as a scientist for a government project and in the corporate sector before joining the University of Calcutta in 2005. He has served as the Head of the Department of Applied Physics and is currently a Professor and Principal Coordinator of the UGC SAP DRS-II project.

Prof. Bera's research interests span wireless communication, electrical drives, condition monitoring of smart grids and microgrids, electrical machines, and embedded systems. He has published over 100 research papers in national and international journals and conferences, authored a book, and guided nine Ph.D. candidates. Additionally, he actively collaborates with industries through consultation projects and is the team leader of the departmental Power System Research group.
